On October 7, 2012, fifteen wounded Canadian veterans and a group of corporate civilians will begin a 20,305 ft high trek up Island Peak, a mere 10 kilometers away from Everest in the Himalayas. This expedition is a True Patriot Love initiative whose mission is to build bridges between soldiers and civilians. The expedition will be turned into a CBC documentary called March to the Top to be aired in January 2013, where viewers will able watch the soldiers attempt to summit while learning about their military lives, their families, their injuries and their struggles, and their hopes for the future.
The MCSF is proud to be an official sponsor of the training camp for this expedition. To follow the journey, please visit www.cbc.ca/marchtothetop
The group will be led by documentary producer, Ben Webster who has led five successful Mount Everest Expedition. Ben is documenting his preparations for the climb at www.cbc.ca/marchtothetop/blog.htm
